SIBUR and Sinopec will create a JV to produce SEBC (styrene, ethylene, butylene copolymers)

Within the framework of the working meeting between the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang, SIBUR Holding (SIBUR) and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) signed an agreement on the basic conditions for cooperation in the production of SEBC (styrene, ethylene, butylene copolymers). SEBC is one of the most durable polymers used in the processes of modification of plastics and bitumen, in the manufacture of adhesives and compounds for modification. According to the signed document, SIBUR and Sinopec will equally create a joint venture in Russia to produce SEBS with a capacity of 20 thousand tons per year.
