Gazprom Neft subsidiary will modernize the catalytic cracking unit at the Pancevo refinery. The company entered into an agreement to develop a basic project for the modernization of the installation with the international company Lummus Technology (part of the McDermott Group).
NIS investments in the project will amount to more than 72 million euros; it is planned to complete the work in 2024. The modernization of the catalytic cracking unit is part of the development program for the Pancevo refinery, which the company has been continuing since 2009. As part of the project, a plant for the production of high-octane gasoline components will also be built. Together with increasing the operational efficiency of the enterprise, the modernization project will further reduce its environmental impact. Today, the Pancevo refinery is one of the most advanced refineries in this part of Europe with a maximum annual refining capacity of 4.8 million tons. NIS already has experience in successful cooperation with Lummus Technology.
